New Catrice 2012 swatches

Today I picked up 3 new Catrice polishes: Karl Says Très Chic, Welcome To Roosywood and Pimp My Shrimp. In my local drugstore I couldn't find the new version of "Sold Out Forever", instead they decided to sell the old ones, of which they probably still had some in stock. No problem for me, as it's one of my favorite shades ever, and I could use a back-up bottle. Plus, as you can see in THIS post by Lacquerdicted, the new Sold Out Forever has nothing to do with the 2011 "Chanel Jade and Dior Waterlily" version! It's blue! I decided to add a swatch of the old version anyway:). She also compared other old versions of Catrice polish with some new ones in THIS post, and as you can see, Pimp My Shrimp looks a lot like I Scream Peach. So, if I Scream Peach is similar to Chanel-Orange Fizz, than I guess Pimp My Shrimp is also a dupe candidate? I'm curious! What do you think about these shades? EDIT: I forgot some important info; I wear 2 coats in all pics, except Pimp My Shrimp, that's 3 coats. The formula on each one of these is just perfect! I have nothing to complain. I'm also a big fan of Catrice's new brush, it's rounded, which makes it super easy to apply the polish in the cuticle area. ;*

Zoya-Maya disappointed me a little. Usually I don't mind a little visible nail line, but this is a bit too much of it in my opinion. I'm wearing 3 coats of Maya, and Revlon Topcoat. The color is lovely; a bright pink coral with a hint of orange. I just wish it would have a better coverage.

This is 3 coats of HEMA Diamond Nailpolish-01, and a coat of Revlon Quick Dry Topcoat.Last summer,in my everlasting search for the perfect coral nail polish, I bought this stunner. It's a pinky coral with just the right amount of orange in it, and lots of tiny golden, blue and pink glitter flecks. Actually my search should stop here, but I have to admit I keep on looking for corals whenever I see a nail polish display. I'm especially curious about Wet 'n wild-blazed, Chanel-Orange Fizz,and Rimmel-Apricot Punch. And there's a bottle of Zoya-Maya on its way to my mailbox. China Glaze-Secret Perwinkle

Dear all,It has been such a long time! It wasn't my plan to take such a long break from blogging, I guess it just happened. A week became another week...a month.....4 months....I did continue polishing my nails, but I would wear my manicures for at least a week. (I'm so glad I discovered Revlon's Topcoat!)Well, here I am again, and I'm going be a more active blogger from now, promised.Today I'm wearing China Glaze-Secret Periwinkle. This color is so calm and relaxing to me, I really like it a lot. Perfect for spring/summer. This year I'm really looking forward to spring, more than ever. I need sunlight. Happiness. Although, no, I need to be more specific: I need Spain! I need Valencia!(My husband and I lived there for 4 years) I want to take long walks on the beach, eat gambas, drink wine, get tanned, go shopping, and enjoy life. That's what I want. P2 is such an amazing brand!I mean, check this new polish named "Blue's Time"! isn't it perfect? It's exactly the shade of blue I wanted!I wonder if this could be called a "periwinkle"? Maybe a dark periwinkle? It's hard for me to describe colours, but I think this is a muted "dark periwinkle-ish"-blue. LOL! It has the right amount of silver shimmer in it, very subtle. I'm loving it.
The formula is perfect. Full coverage in 2 coats, and it dries super fast. I think I'm going to wear this one a lot, so I need a few back-up bottles. Yes, I love it THAT much! I'm already worried it might be discontinued one day! Gotta love P2 for coming up with such amazing and affordable nail polish (and make-up). P2: You're the best. <3

P2 Pearl Crackling-Blue Thunder (New Autumn 2011!)+Haul

I picked up some lovely new polishes from P2 and Essence today! In the pics I'm wearing 2 coats of Essence Show Off!-Chica topped with P2 Pearl Crackling-Blue Thunder. I love the quality of this crackling polish. It's easy to apply, and starts crackling in a few seconds. It dries matte, so a topcoat is necessary for a lovely sparkly finish.

It's a very lovely hot pink polish, and actually one of my favorite polishes at the moment. I absolutely love the pretty bottle, and the formula is just perfect.

I'm wearing 2 coats of Chanel-Péridot in the pics.

Ok, I did it. I bought a bottle of Chanel nailpolish. I didn't expect I was going to do it, but Péridot is simply irresistable. It's one of those polishes you need to see IRL, because the pics don't do it justice.
The polish changes from gold to green, and I love it.(Even though I'm usually an anti-green polish addict)
Funny detail: Péridot is my birthstone (I'm a Leo!). Coco Chanel also was a Leo, born on august 19th, so maybe that's why Chanel decided to add this shade to the collection?
To me this is definitely worth the bucks! Love the colour(s),love the name, and it applied like a dream. Now I'm going to find a special place for this bottle on my beauty desk!
Did you get your hands on Péridot already, or are you waiting for a dupe?

Please meet Zoya-Pandora, from Zoya's Touch collection!I'm wearing 2 coats here, and a coat of Seche.

When I heard about this collection I got really excited, because I'm always interested in a good nude polish, especially if it promises full coverage.
The colour is extremely elegant, and I'm loving how it elongates my fingers. I got full coverage in 2 coats!
The only thing I don't like is the longevity of this polish in combination with Seche! It starts chipping within a few hours after applying, and on some nails the polish started lifting, so I could peel it off. Maybe I should try using this one with another topcoat, or with no topcoat at all. I really wish I could wear this for longer than a day, because It's a stunner!

NOTD: Zoya-Savita

I recently became a huge fan of Zoya's matte velvet polishes, and Zoya-Savita made me love 'em even more!
This is 2 coats, no topcoat, no basecoat. It dried in just a few minutes, love that. You do need to work fast when applying this polish, because of the quick drying time.
I love this colour! It's an attention drawing, crazy beautiful, matte purple! If you don't own this one yet, I suggest you visit Evil-bay right now and find yourself a bottle. In my opinion we all need a bottle of Savita. Sigh...

Zoya- Dovima (Matte Velvet)

I was not very interested in the 'matte thing', especially after buying OPI's Alpine Snow matte, which I hated. Maybe that's why I decided to stay far away from all other matte polishes.
But now, 2 years after Zoya released their "Matte Velvet" collection, I can say I absolutely la-la-LOVE Dovima!!!!Why didn't anyone tell me how gorgeous this polish is? (oh yeah, ok, I forgot all 10.000 nail polish bloggers posted swatches....LOL)

I think there's no need for me to add any information to these pics, all I can say is that I'm wearing 2 coats here, no top- or basecoat, and this mani dried in about 2 minutes, no kidding! I'm going back to Evil-Bay now, to search for a bottle of Zoya-Posh, from the same collection. Hope I can find one...XO!

(P.s.: don't look at the scratch on my middle finger!)

Chanel Particulière Comparison!

I was at my local beauty boutique this morning, where a tester bottle of Chanel- Particulière caught my attention. This shade has been hyped to the max, I even read in a magazine there were women who travelled by train to paris(from the Benelux!!!), just to buy a bottle of Particulière in the Chanel boutique. Well, if you can afford it: Why not? LOL! But I still don't understand what all the fuzz was about, as it's not an extremely special polish. I think OPI Designer Series Collections include polishes which are insanely beautiful, and a lot more special. I guess it's mainly the big name, Chanel, that gives the polish that luxurious feeling...other than that: No one will notice if you're wearing Chanel polish, or Catrice. Just you. And your wallet.

Anyway...on my thumb I'm wearing Chanel-Particulière, index finger- Catrice-Lost In Mud, middle finger-Essie-Mink Muffs, ring finger-OPI-You Don't Know Jaques! and pinky-Color Club-High Society.(I applied all colours over a light grey mani which I was wearing already, but these polishes are highly pigmented, so the colours in the pics are accurate)

I had no idea Catrice-Lost in mud would be so similar to Particulière! Chanel is a tiny bit lighter, but a "normal" person won't notice the difference!
Mink Muffs is more brown, YDNJ is a darker taupe, and High Society actually doesn't belong in this comparison, I just used it because my other muddy polishes are purple ones.
So, unless you're a psycho perfectionist who can spot each tiny difference in colours, I think you can easily find the look for a lot less!Essie-Mink Muffs is my favorite of the bunch. It's a bit warmer, I like that. I'm glad I took it out of my Helmer today, because I forgot how beautiful it is!

Zoya- Gemma

Yeah, I know, I'm usually anti-green, but this is an exception!(along with Essie-Sew Psyched!)
Gemma is an amazing olive green with blue(!) shimmer, and I think it looks irresistible!I'm wearing 2 coats here, and that's enough for full coverage. It gives that nice casual touch to your look. Casual, but still very sexy.
I'm not happy with the way my nails look in these pics though, so I'll do another take on Zoya-Gemma once they've reached a more flattering length! This might take a while, as I broke another nail right after taking these pics. How annoying!

Catrice- Apropos Apricot

Even though Catrice's advice is to apply 2 coats, I needed 4 coats to get an even, opaque result. But the polish is thin, so it's not that much of a problem; it's very buildable.
Again it's one of those "hidden shimmer" polishes! It's barely there, so you really have to check your nails in full sunlight to detect a hint of shimmer.
The colour is lovely, a very soft and feminine "salmony" apricot. I like this one!

Catrice Ultimate Nudes (Prima Ballerina and Mona Lisa)

Today I want to show you these 2 beauties from Catrice's Ultimate Nudes collection. Both are 3-coaters. Don't you just love the simple and elegant touch of these polishes? I think they look so fresh and clean, and you don't have to worry about your outfit, as these neutrals go with everything.
Years ago, before I discovered Essie, I was always on the search for the perfect milky white, pale pink, or shimmery beige, and all I could find was some dirty yellowish beige or a streaky white polish. Now there's so much choice, from OPI to Essie, from Zoya to Bourjois...and Catrice, yaaay!
My husband doesn't see the difference between all my neutrals, but that doesn't matter, I think they're all unique, LOL!

P2- LE Ship Ahoy "Royal Gold"

WOW!!!!This is 2 coats op P2-Royal Gold, from the limited edition "Ship Ahoy" collection! This is freakin' awesome!Everything about this polish is perfect: It applies like a dream(smooth as butter),it's fully opaque in 2 coats, and the colour, well, sigh.....BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!
I haven't been this enthousiastic about a polish for a long time now. It's gold, it sparkles like crazy, and I can't stop looking at my nails! This polish is sick! LOL!I think every girl needs a bottle of "Royal Gold", seriously.
I'm going back in the sun now, to stare at my nails for a while....XOXO!

Essence-Speed Of Light Blue (Chanel Riva Dupe?)

This is 3 (!!!) coats of Essence-Speed Of Light Blue. I've heard it's Chanel Riva's dupe, but I can't confirm that as I don't own Riva. I did see fellow blogger's swatches, and my conclusion is that these 2 shades are definitely look-a-likes!
In the bottle I see a very subtle shimmer, but unfortunately this is not noticeable once applied on the nail. But anyway it's a very lovely shade of blue.
It's a bit of a PITA to apply! I had some cuticle drag issues, and it's also streaky. But for 1,29 euro you won't hear me complain about that!
I think it's sold out everywhere, but if you can get your hands on a bottle: Grab it!

Essence-Love, Peace And Purple: Yet another Chanel Paradoxal dupe!

I'm wearing 2 coats of LPAP, no topcoat.
When I found the Essence "You Rock" collection in my local drugstore, my eyes were immediately drawn to 2 specific shades: Love peace and purple, and Speed of light blue. Why? Well, they look a lot like Chanel Paradoxal and Chanel Riva!I don't think that's a coincidence;)
You can check my previous "Paradoxal/Dusky Mauve" post HERE, so you can see what I mean...
The formula is nice, and the price is the best: 1,50 €! And I got mine in a buy 1 get 1 free offer, so even better;D.
In my next post I'll show you the "Riva" look a like. I don't own Chanel Riva, so I won't be able to do a comparison, but I've heard it can be called a dupe!
If you don't own these 2 shades yet, I suggest you get 'm before they're gone!(It's a limited edition!)

OPI Katy Perry-Teenage Dream

This is 2 coats of Teenage Dream, plus Seche Vite. I have to say the pics don't show the true beauty of this glitter polish. It's actually super sparkly, especially in the sunlight.
The formula is good (not too thick), so if you would like a more opaque result, you can easily apply a third coat.
If you like girly, cute, japanese style glitter polish, than you definitely should get yourself a bottle of Teenage Dream!I'm lovin'it!

Pedicure: P2 Sun City-Copacabana

This is 2 coats of Copacabana, one of the shades from P2's limited edition "Sun City" collection.
I'm a little disapointed! First of all: green is not my favorite colour, I actually dislike it. But this one looked very beautiful and glowy in the bottle, so I expected it to look hot on my nails as well:). Well, it doesn't! I guess it just doesn't suit my skintone. It looks too mature on me, and that's not exactly the effect I'm seeking for in a nail polish!
I'm going to remove this pedi right now, and now I now for sure: No more green polish for me!I've learned my lesson:). XO!

I received this polish weeks ago, and have worn it quite a few times since, but everytime I forgot to take pics of it.
This is 2 coats of Cult Nails-Iconic, plus Seche Vite. Cult Nails is a brand new company, owned by fellow nail-blogger Maria. When I saw pics of Iconic, I knew I had to have it. Deep berry creme with red flakes and golden shimmer? Yes, please!I was not disapointed at all: it looks like hot, glowing lava. Very sexy!(especially in sunlight, it's breathtaking!!!!)
The formula is perfect; smooth as butter and opaque in 2 coats. Love it!

Sometimes, I just want my nails to look natural and pretty. Nothing more, nothing less. On those days I go through my stash, in the search of the perfect neutral polish to match my mood.
Today, Essie- A Lot Of Shekels* was screaming "PICK ME!!", so that's what I did. I applied 3 coats, with a nice thick layer of Seche Vite, and the result is just perfect. Pretty pretty pretty pretty :D *does a little dance around the living room*...

Yes, my lovely followers and lurkers: I am going to declutter my home. I've been preparing my strategy for months *cough*... years...*cough* and now the time has come. I'm starting tomorrow with the attic, and I'm determined to throw at least 75% of the stuff that's stored up there in the garbage. Oh boy, what am I getting myself into...I've been suffering from backache for a few months now, and I'm sure the pain will be doubled by tomorrow evening...I also might break a few nails...But it's soooo freakin' necessary. You have no idea. The attic you see in the pic is nothing compared to mine...
When the attic is organized, fresh and clean(this might take a couple of days), I'm going to organize my wardrobe. Also one hell of an insane job to do:(. Aaaaaaaargh!!!! Wish me luck! (and if you have some amazing "decluttering tips", please let me know:D)
I'm going to mentally prepare myself now...XO XO

New Brand: Anny Cosmetics

I was in Germany saturday, and payed a visit to Douglas (a perfume shop). There I saw a gorgeous display filled with lots and lots of nailpolish by a brand that was completely new to me: ANNY. It made me giggle, because Anny (Annie) is kind of an old ladies name here in Holland, LOL. The stylish, luxurious looking bottles definitely made up for that name. What I REALLY like about their display, is that there is a tester bottle available for all shades! Unfortunately I was wearing a manicure already, but next time I'm going to try on some of the colours. Also nice for a wear test:)
ANNY comes in lots of colours, which you can check on their website . (also check the blog and Facebook fan page!)
One bottle is sold for 9,50 euro, which I do find a little expensive, but some shades really seem to be worth it. I didn't buy any yet, but I probably will when they come up with the new summer collection.

New stuff from Essence! (Got A Secret+Mystic Mermaid)

Finally! A big part of Essence's new collection is now available at my local DM store. I didn't spot the new silver stampy polish, so I might have to keep on stalking the store for a while now:).
I bought the 4 shades that looked most interesting to me, plus a nice soft coral lipstick. Today I'm showing you the incredible "Got A Secret", and "Mystic Maid" (special effect topper).

Now I have to admit I'm not the best when it comes to describing colours. But I think the best way to describe Got A Secret is as a dovey grey with a hint of icey light blue :D.
It's so pretty! It reminds me of the shade Lady Gaga was wearing on the cover of Vanity Fair: Deborah Lippmann-Waking Up In Vegas. I don't own it, but it looks like these two polishes are family:)
The Special Effect Topper is also a stunner!Blue, gold and silver micro glitter, very delicate, very beautiful. I'm a big fan of these already.

I also received my bottle of Zoya-Gemma and China Glaze-For Audrey today. And 2 weeks ago I received Cult Nails-Iconic. Such lovely polishes....It's about time I start polishing my nails more often again;).

Wow, it's been quite a while since my previous post! But here I am again:).
I finally got my hands on the new Essence stampy plates with full nail design, and they really are as amazing as I hoped they would be!
I'm wearing Essie-Sew Psyched as base colour, and for the giraffe design I used Essence Stampy Polish in black. The result is just fabulous, seriously, it looks like I'm wearing Minx or Nail Rock! I'm totally lovin' this combination, and I bet this will make one hell of an amazing pedicure! XO!

I'm a big fan of gold jewellery...I love gold!Even if it's not real gold. As long as it's gold toned it's perfect.
When I was a little girl I started collecting stones. Precious, semi-precious, and ordinairy stones, which I would make less ordinairy by polishing them in a tumbling machine. I also own (and found) a few fossils. I loved to visit the annual gem and mineral fair in my city, even if it was just to look at stones I could never afford to buy. Stones are my thing:)

The combination of gold with semi-precious stones makes my heart beat faster, especially if we're talking about blue stones. Turquoise, Agate...but a nice piece of Coral is also perfect!

Today I was checking the Topshop webshop for inspiration, and I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the jewellery department: Gold, Turquoise, Agate,Tiger's Eye! Wow! They have a huge choice of amazing jewellery! Statement rings, cute earrings, delicate necklaces and bracelets, and all very affordable! What I like the most, is that they also have brilliant gold tone jewellery, not just the "antiqued gold". Antiqued can be nice, but I'm more into the shiny stuff:)

Today I started Manicure Time exactly 1 year ago, on the 7th of february! Time flies!

If I was Oprah Winfrey (sometimes I fantasize about being as rich and powerful as Oprah,LOL), I would invite all my 370 dear followers (and the lurkers) for a high tea with lots of cupcakes and macarons....Than we would sit around long tables filled with all the latest nailpolish collections and nail art, and I would invite Lilya Sereditskaya to teach all of us how to turn our nails into true pieces of art...After that I would send all of you home with a HUGE goody bag, stuffed with "my favorite things":). The latest "must-have" Chanel nailpolish is called Riva. It doesn't seem very special to me, but I did check my collection to find out if I had any similar shades. I have 2 options: Eyeko-Pastel Polish (an old bottle) and Color Club- Take me to you chateau. In the pics I'm wearing Color Club topped with 1 coat of CND Effects- Gold Sparkle. I have no idea if this comes close to Riva since I don't own it, but it'll definitely give you "the look for less"!
I wonder how many people are willing to spend 30 bucks on a plain blue polish. I won't. Never ever....

Color Club- OOOOOO LA LA

Color Club- OOOOOO LA LA has been part of my collection for a long time now, but I only used it once because it's streaky and it causes cuticle drag. The colour however is amazing, so I gave it a 2nd chance today.
It's a very beautiful shade of pearly white. It's not too pearly, so it does not give it that "grandma" touch. I applied 3 coats plus Essie G2G. If you leave some drying time between each coat, the polish is actually ok to apply. Not perfect, but the result is worth the annoyance;).
Does this polish scream for a black Konad design or what? XO!

Evil Shades Perfume: Intrinsic Harmony!

What a nice surprise on the last day of the year: My Evil Shades perfume arrived!
Evil Shades is a cosmetics company owned by fellow blogger Andrea, a.k.a. Black Nail Polish and Lip Gloss. A few weeks ago she introduced her own perfume: Intrinsic Harmony. She describes the perfume as "A hint of soft black leather to entice the wild side, a subtle whisper of strawberry to settle the inner child, rested on a base of sweet water lily and jasmine with gentle wafts of coconut and blood red roses all to sweep you away to your "Intristic Harmony". I think this is a pretty accurate description. I definitely smell the coconot and the sweet, flowery base. It smells delicious, very sexy and feminine. I don't know how she did it, but she created a very luxurious smelling perfume! Seriously, I was a little afraid to order a perfume just by the description, but when it arrived today I was sold! This stuff is GOOD! I can't stop sniffing my wrist! If I didn't know better I'd probably even give it a lick;)
If you don't own a bottle yet, I suggest you visit the Evil Shades Webshop. Intrinsic Harmony is sold for $9.50, you get a 10ml roller for this price.(it's a concentrated fragrance oil, so a little goes a long way)

As you can see in the pics, Andrea included a candy cane (love that!), and a sample of her "Auld Lang Syne" eyeshadow collection. The shade I got is "Lucia", "A bright bold red with bright pink shimmer and a subtle violet shift". She decribes this collection as "Six Limited Edition deep, complex shades to warm up the holidays and ring in the New Year!". Well, what better day to play around with this eyeshadow than today! I'm not the best make-up artist around, but I'm going to give it a try, LOL! If the result is pretty enough to share with all of you, I'll post some pics;)

Le Chat Nobility Perfect Match-Jack Rose

Oh.My.God. I think I found the best soak off gel on earth!
In my beloved Japense nail-art magazines I had seen some products from a brand named "Le Chat", and after some google-research, I decided to give the "Le Chat Nobility Perfect Match" a try. Perfect Match is a set of 1 soak off gel polish and 1 nail polish in the exact same shade. Very easy for matching your mani-pedi, but also to retouch the gel polish!
The shade I'm wearing is "Jack Rose", a very bright coral. I don't know what's up with me lately, but I just keep going back to bright colours. Maybe I'm suffering from a little winterblues...
The gel applies like a normal nailpolish, but you have to cure it in a UV lamp. It's the smoothest gel I've tried until now! Seriously, smooth as butter! And the best of all: No Shrinking at the free edge! Yaaaay!And it's incredibly thin!This is my new holy grail, I need more colours of these!
The pics were taken after 4 days of wearing, and as you can see: Still flawless!Love it..

I can't believe I haven't done any Christmas nail-art yet! Good I'm still on time to come up with something;) Have a good weekend everyone!

Yesterday I soaked off my previous soak off gel mani, and replaced it with another, sheer glitter shade. It's really helping me to recover my nails!
Today I applied nailpolish on top of the gel: Yves Rocher-Corail Vif. Very bright, very lovely. It might be more of a summer shade, but I don't really care. The formula is perfect, and I love the flat brush on these! This is 2 coats, plus Essie Good2Go. I wish you all a splenid weekend;) XO!

Cuccio Naturalé Soak Off gel

Lately I've been treating my nails like testing tools again. I wanted to try some new acrylic products...Yes, I do have a nail trainer (a -very expensive:(- practise hand), but I wanted to check if I would get any lifting along the cuticle line after using a new bonder, and this you can only find out by using it on natural nails. The products turned out to be just perfect;)

So, after removing 2 sets of acrylics in short time, by soaking my nails in acetone, my cuticles were fried, and my nails were inevitably dry and thin.

I really want to let my natural nails grow out healthily again, I hope I'll have the patience for that. (it didn't work out in the past, LOL!)

Anyway, I decided to apply a soak off gel by Cuccio Naturalé (star nail international), which allows you to apply a nice and thin layer of colour, that can last up to 2 weeks. If applied and removed correctly, this won't damage your natural nails! It actually gives a little extra strength, so perfect for me to let my nails recover. I'm wearing "Totally 80's pink", which is a nice bright and fresh pink. It reminds me of Lush Snowfairy products:)

I'm going to cover my hands with a thick layer of Palmer's Cocoa Butter now, I need some intensive skin therapy after spending time outside in the c-c-cold!

Yves Rocher "Fruits de Noël" products

That was a looooong period of silence!But here I am again.

A few weeks ago I told you about the Yves Rocher christmas products. Well, I ordered the hand-cream and lipbalm, because I was very curious about the Orange&Chocolate and Orange&Almond scent.

As I expected, the Orange&Almond is my favorite. The scent is very light and fresh, with a delicious almond twist. It slightly (very slightly) reminded me of Lush Smitten, which has a very strong almond scent.

Orange&Chocolate smells like, surprise surprise, Orange&Chocolate candy:). Also very delish, but the scent is a tiny bit too sweet for me. I love to use the lipbalm, but for my hands I find the chocolate smell a little too much.

The formula of the hand-cream is very light and non-greasy. It absorbs quickly, and I still noticed the scent after 1 hour. Perfect for normal skin, but if you have very dry skin you'll probably need some more heavy stuff.

Yves Rocher's lipbalms are my all time favorite! I've been using the almond lipalm for years now, and I can't live without it anymore! These Noël editions have exactly the same formula, but with a limited edition scent. The balms have a perfectly smooth, creamy texture, and leave your lips hydrated for hours! I would recommend this to all of you:).

Overall I'm very pleased with these products. They 're cheap (cream and balm only cost 1,90 euro), look cute, smell good and they work!

Catrice-Big Spender Wanted!

My NOTD: 2 coats of Catrice-Big Spender Wanted and 1 coat of Essie-Good To Go. This is a pretty pink polish with golden shimmer. And although I think it's a lovely shade, I'm not sure if I'll wear this for long, as it looks a little old-fashioned. Mature. Actually, I think it's a "mom colour", LOL!

Nail Rock Designer Wraps-Pink Velvet Leopard Skin (Pedi!)

Today I want to show you another lovely design by Nail Rock: Pink Velvet Leopard Skin...oooooooh...me likey:)

I was waiting for a moment when I really could take my time to apply these wraps on my toenails, because I expected it was going to take at least one hour. I was wrong! It actually is pretty easy to use these wraps for pedicures, because you can use both your hands to apply them. Ha!

In less than 30 minutes I was ready, and the proud owner of 10 super glossy nails with a sexy feline design. And, also good to know: once applied, you're ready to go, so you don't have to be afraid your shoes are going to damage your fresh pedi!

Nail Rock is sold for approx. 8,10 euro, for this price you get 24 wraps for mani and pedi. But, I do have to say the wraps are long, so if you're smart you cut the pedi wraps in half, so you can use 'em twice!(unless you have very long toenails, which I doubt;))

There are many lovely designs available, also some very cool metallic ones, the same type Beyoncé and Lady Gaga were wearing by Minx.(but Minx will cost you at least 4 times more)

Hi lovelies,

I'm suffering from a bit of a "blogger's block". I know many of you have the same problem every now and than, so I guess it's normal.
Sometimes I just want to wear a nice shade of polish for a few days, enjoy it, and look at it every 5 minutes.... and that's not always a polish I haven't shown you yet. I don't want to feel the obligation to wear a new shade of polish every day, just because I need to have something to write about, or to share a photo. There are still plenty of shades I didn't show you yet, but I'm going to show them when I really feel like wearing them. I want to enjoy my manicures...
I have lots of bottles of polish, and honestly, I think I own enough now. Seriously, how many different shades of purple, red, taupe, greige or black does a girl need? Ofcourse I enjoy having a huge nailpolish collection, but when I look all those lovely colours, and realize I've worn most of them only once, and not more than a day, it makes me feel like a freak:). For example: one of my very very favorite shades of polish is OPI DS Extravaganze. Guess what? I only used it 2 times this year. Why?
I love my blog, and ofcourse I'm going to continue blogging FOREVER (LOL), but this is how I'm feeling at the moment.
Do you ever feel a little crazy because of your nailpolish obsession? Please let me know, it'll probably make me feel better;).

The Yves Rocher noël products are back!

Every year I'm looking forward to Yves Rocher's holiday season products. Last year's collection, fleur de noël, was just perfect to me. I still have a tiny bit of hand cream left, which smells heavenly. Too bad it's limited edition, so I probably won't be able to find it anymore.
But, good news, the 2010 products are available now, YAAAAAY! I already placed an order, I just couldn't wait.
This year, instead of fleur de noël (flowers), the christmas product line is called fruits de noël (fruits:)). You can choose between "Orange-Chocolate" and "Orange Almond" hand cream, lipbalm, soap, perfume, bodymilk, showergel, hand soap, home scent and candles. I'm especially curious about the Orange Almond fragrance!
What I also really like about Yves Rocher products is the price. For example, the hand cream and lipbalm are sold for 1,90 euro each. Not bad, huh?
As soon as I receive my products I'll let you know what I think about them! XO!

For this Halloween mani I used the nailstickers I showed you in yesterday's post and, ofcourse, Eyeko-Vampira polish! Oooooooh, scary....! I just love the "graveyard effect" of the crosses, and the cute little ghosts and pumpkins. I also have some nice stickers with bats, but they're black, so I couldn't use them over this black polish. I'll save those for my next Halloween mani(tomorrow?). XO

I love ebay because you can find little treasures like these nailstickers for just a few bucks! I know Halloween is not celebrated here in Holland, but I just love the decorations! I prepared a pumpkin soup yesterday, and we decided to make a Jack-o out of it:)

This is 2 coats of Illamasqua-Muse. I don't like green polish, green is not my cup of tea. But I'm starting to like teal, a little. I like this one, it's a very deep, rich colour, and highly pigmented. I had no idea Illamasqua polish was of such good quality!I hope to collect some more Illamasqua in future:)

No, I'm not going insane, I know it's october. It's just that I saw some people in our neighbourhood already hung up christmas lights and decorations in their window, which I think is ridiculous. It's autumn, come on!We're still searching for mushrooms, and we found baskets full of chestnuts this week! Stop it! No christmas holidays yet!Can we PLEASE enjoy the moment? Thank you!

I like the to watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it's my guilty pleasure. I'm a huge fan of Khloe, because she's funny, a little crazy, gorgeous, curvy, and her nails are always perfect! I also follow her blog, just to see pics of what she and her sisters are wearing, and what nailpolish they chose.

Anyway, there seem to be some people (bullies)who think it's o.k. to call her "Fugly", "Fat", "Tranny" and so on, which I TRULY don't understand. Why the hell? She made a short video, in which she speaks openly about her feelings. CLICK HERE to go to her blog and see the video.

Oops! I did it again...I couldn't resist, I needed longer nails! So I applied a nice set of sculpted gel nails(I'm a nail tech:)). Yaaay! My natural nails are fine, I just don't like how easy they break.
I showed you Dusky Mauve last week, but not as a full manicure, and since it's such an amazing shade, here it is again in all its glory!

Sew Psyched on its own:

This is 2 coats of Essie-Sew Psyched, plus Good To Go topcoat. I think Sew Psyched, a nice khaki green, perfectly fits in with the latest Chanel Craze "Les Khakis". If you like the look, but don't want to spend more than 20 bucks on a nailpolish, Sew Psyched might be what you're searching for.
I added some mysterious "Halloween Cat" waterslide decals, which I found on ebay last year, to complete my manicure. I'm a dog person, but for nails cats are fine. (which doesn't mean I don't love cats, I love all animals, I just don't understand cats!)

If you like your nails to look like cat claws, you might wanna try an "Italian Manicure". Simply paint the middle of your nails, leaving the sides unpolished! From up close it looks weird, but from a distance it looks pretty cool!Real claws on my paws!
(I used 2 coats of the lovely Ciaté-3AM Girl, and some (bad quality) rhinestones.)

Bourjois-Cerise Noir

Bourjois Cerise Noir is my all time favorite vampy. I bought my first bottle more than 10 years ago, when Bourjois nailpolish came in these cute bottles:

I remember how many compliments I got on my nails every single time I was wearing this polish!Girls would come to me to ask where I bought it, and guys just loved the vampy chic look.
Now, 10 years later, I own quite a few bottles of vampy polish from different brands, but nothing beats my Cerise Noir. It's perfect!And I'm glad it's still part of Bourjois' polish collection!
Do you have an all time favorite polish? Is it still available, or discontinued?

Essie-Mink Muffs + Essence Stampy Skulls

I had a cold, a very bad one, but I'm back.
Today I'm wearing 2 coats of Essie-Mink Muffs, with some very cute skulls from one of the Essence stampy plates. The skulls' eyes are heart shaped, sweet! Unfortunately, the design became a little blurry after applying topcoat. (in the pics it looks worse than it actually is!)
About Mink Muffs I can be very short: L.O.V.E.!I'm going to wear this delicious milk-chocolate shade a lot, I'm sure.

First of all: today is 10th of october 2010, so 10-10-2010. Like it:)
Now onto the nails. I love french manicures; they look clean and fresh, and go with everything. Yesterday's manicure still looked perfect, but I removed it anyway:) Time for some french chic.
For the white tip I used 2 coats of Essence-White Secret. After that I topped it with Essie-Mademoiselle, and Essie-Good To Go. Ready! I think it looks pretty cute:)

I saw Adam Lambert on the Oprah show last week (yes, we're late in Holland:)) and since than I listened to this song about 100 times. I heard it before, but I only started liking it after I knew a little more about the person behind the song. He is amazing, he has it all!I'm sure there are a lot of boys out there who would like to drink a cup of tea with this hottie:)....

This is 2 coats plus Essie Good To Go. A lovely dirty turquoise shade of polish with that nice vintage feeling. I usually find that turquoise or light blue polish looks cheap-ish, but not this one!This looks like a million dollars:).(My husband was in a creative mood, of which you can see the result in the first pic.)
Hopefully this mani will stay perfect during the weekend, because I like it a lot!

Barry M- Dusky Mauve (Chanel Paradoxal Dupe!)

Yesterday I saw this post by RijaH, which made me go directly to Alicejohavesentials, as they are the place to be for Barry M. I'm lucky Alice lives close to where I live, so I could pick my order up immediately.
Barry M-Dusky Mauve seemse to be THE Chanel Paradoxal dupe. I decided to compare Barry M to Purple Grey, and this is the result:

Index+Ring finger: Dusky Mauve Middle finger+Pinky: Purple Grey

In this pic I added 1 coat of CND-Violet Shimmer to Purple grey (middle finger+pinky)

Dusky Mauve (right) is obviously darker than Purple Grey+Violet Shimmer:

I'm very happy with this new Barry M shade, it's fabulous! I read that Paradoxal has a hidden shimmer, well, so does Dusky Mauve! But, if you don't like shimmer, Purple Grey is still a perfect alternative, the base seems to be almost identical. I'm happy I own both shades:) x0

Chica from the Essence Secret Trend Edition: Show off!!!

Essence released a "Secret" trend edition, named Show Off. I found the display yesterday at DM in Germany, and was pleasantly surprised. This might be especially interesting for make-up lovers, as I saw some very colourful, well pigmented eyeshadows and lipglosses! I found a video on youtube showing the collection: CLICK

I picked up just one shade of polish, Chica, a real stunner!It's a deep dark blue with super sparkly blue shimmer. It's breathtaking....
This is 2 coats, no topcoat.

Ciaté-Fade To Greige+Viva La Nails waterslide decals!

This is 2 coats of Ciaté-Fade To Greige, a delicious rich shade of "greige", plus some lovely waterslide decals by Viva La Nails. I sealed the decals with Essie Good To Go topcoat.
The result is very clean and chic, I'm loving this combination!XO!
